CHESTNUT HILL, Mass – There are two offensive line prospects from Boston College that could certainly be on the New England Patriots radar heading into the 2025 NFL Draft.
Mike Vrabel was one of 10 staffers from the Patriots to attend the Eagles' Pro Day on Monday, and was keeping an eye on offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo and center Drew Kendall.
So with that, it only made sense that both players were asked what it would be like to get drafted by New England.
"Look, I'm not allowed to have any biases? Whoever wants me, I'm going to be the happiest guy in the world," Trapilo simply stated.
"I'd be happy anywhere. Just need that opportunity and make the most of it. But it would definitely be really special [to play for the Patriots]," Kendall explained. "I grew up about 40 minutes away from Foxborough, so it would be a really cool experience," Kendall said. "[Vrabel] came up to me at the end and said good job, shook my hand. It's awesome. It's a good thing that he's here."
And Boston College head coach Bill O'Brien thinks that any team will be getting two great players, both on the field and off the field, if they select Trapilo or Kendall.
"I think when you're looking at O-Line, and again this is just my opinion, but what the teams that call me, what the observe is you've got very bright guys, you've got very tough guys. You've got guys that never miss practice, guys that never miss games, guys that both, like Donovan, were unanimous captains," O'Brien told reporters. "The whole team voted for them to be captains. They are very bright guys. They both have masters degrees from Boston College.
"These are the guys that you want in your locker room. That's my opinion. When I was in Houston, these were the type of guys, especially at that position, that you want in your locker room. Any team that drafts Ozzy and Drew is very fortunate to have them in my opinion."
Specifically, as it concerns to Trapilo, O'Brien thinks he would fit right in with the culture Vrabel is looking to create.
"To me, it's a great question and it's an easy question for me because Ozzy is the type of guy who's just the same guy every day. Never misses practice, very tough, very talented, very smart," he said. "He'd be awesome in the locker room. He'll do whatever the coach asks him to do – play right tackle, play left tackle, play guard if you want him to. He'll do whatever you want him to do. He always puts the team first and that's some of the things that I think Mike's probably looking for. I'm not telling Mike who to draft, but I don't think he could go wrong with Ozzy Trapilo."
