The New England Patriots have lost another quarterback from their practice squad.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the Los Angeles Chargers have signed Will Grier off the Patriots practice squad on Monday morning.
Grier has not been given a true chance while in New England, so now he gets the chance to compete on the active roster and work with Justin Herbert.
Grier signed with the Patriots at the end of September off the Cinncinati Bengals practice squad and primarily served as the third-string quarterback behind Jones and Zappe.
He began his career with the Carolina Panthers, being selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He then went to the Dallas Cowboys before his short stint with the Bengals.
However, head coach Bill Belichick opted to waive Grier in November, but re-signed him to the practice squad soon after. Grier's spot went to OT Conor McDermott who was out of practice squad elevations.
This comes right after the Patriots lost QB/WR Malik Cunningham, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens off New England's practice squad.
So the team is now down to two quarterbacks: Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe.
With only three games left, let's see if they bring someone else in or decide to stick with Jones and Zappe.
