The New England Patriots were without Christian Barmore for much of the 2024 season.

In July, Barmore was hospitalized with blood clots and missed the first 10 games of the season. He was activated in the middle of November. However, after just four games, he was placed back on the non-football illness list after experiencing some recurring symptoms.

So, many are wondering what his status is going into the 2025 season. And that's exactly what executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf was asked at the scouting combine on Wednesday.

"We don't know for sure yet," Wolf told reporters. "The one thing we know is that he's working out in Tampa right now and that's going really well from the reports we've gotten. He's doing everything in his power.

"He wants to play football, and that's one of the things I've always admired about Christian is how passionate he is. He doesn't want to let anyone down. And he's passionate about getting back on the field."

Head coach Mike Vrabel also spoke with MassLive about this, and didn't give much away.

“I would say that I’ve enjoyed my conversations with him, and I would say that it’s too soon to tell,” Vrabel told MassLive.

“There will be a check up for where he’s at medically as we move closer to April,” Vrabel added. “But he seems to have the energy and the attitude that would be exciting to work with.”

Based on Wolf and Vrabel's answers, it seems that it's just a waiting game at this point.
