The New England Patriots have the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and everyone is expecting them to draft a quarterback. However, it seems one team is making a big push to try and grab that pick from the Patriots.

According to Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, The New York Giants have been trying to trade up with the Patriots because they want UNC quarterback Drake Maye.

"The prevailing belief is it’s a long shot to happen — but New England is listening to all calls," Schultz wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

USC quarterback Caleb Williams is the clear No. 1 overall pick, heading to the Chicago Bears. And the expectation at the moment is that the Washington Commanders are leaning towards selecting LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels.

So that leaves Drake Maye as the next man up.

While the Bears and Commanders have made it clear that they really aren't open for business, the Patriots said they are willing to move for the right price. But so far, they haven't received an offer that is encouraging enough.

Yet, once they are on the clock, anything is possible.

Last season, Maye went 269-of-425 for 3,608 yards with 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions last season, along with rushing 92 times for 582 yards with nine rushing touchdowns.

As for the Giants, they currently hold the No. 6 overall pick, which would likely go to the Patriots if a trade happens. And if they lose out on Drake Maye, they most likely will shift their focus and draft Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Tom Brady flashbacks, anyone?

The draft is a few hours away, so let's see what happens.
