Analysis and Opinion

A 5-foot-11 cornerback out of South Carolina, Dial is ready to go in New England.

He revealed that he knew he had made a strong first impression during his pre-draft visit and had hoped this would be the team to draft him. It all worked out.

Dial finished the 2023 season with 36 tackles to go with 10 pass breakups, and the year prior he led the team with 15 passes defended and three interceptions.

While the Patriots have Christian Gonzalez and Jonathan Jones as the top cornerbacks on the roster, they both are coming back from injury. They also lost Myles Bryant who has been a consistent figure in the cornerback room, so Dial adds additional depth.

The roster also consist of cornerbacks Alex Austin, Shaun Wade, Marcus Jones, Marco Wilson, Isaiah Bolden, and Azizi Hearn so he will have to fight for a spot on the roster.
