Aaron Rodgers is one step further in his recovery.
The New York Jets quarterback confirmed on his Instagram story that he had surgery on Wednesday to repair his torn Achilles.
"Surgery went great yesterday. Thank you for all the love and prayers and support. And thanks to the (GOAT) Dr. ElAttrache and his staff for starting me on the road to recovery," Rodgers wrote along with posting a photo of him wearing a hospital gown in a hospital bed.

On Monday, Rodgers went down 75 seconds into their season opener against the Buffalo Bills after being sacked by Leonard Floyd. It was later revealed that Rodgers suffered a complete tear of his left Achilles tendon.
Dr. Neal S. ElAttrache has a very good reputation among athletes, having also repaired Kobe Bryant's Achilles.
This is the first step in a long recovery for Rodgers, but this is promising as the 39-year-old quarterback is aiming to return to the game next season despite many questioning if this injury will end his career.
With Rodgers now sidelined for the season, head coach Robert Saleh confirmed that Zach Wilson will "be the guy" to lead the team for the season.
This is a tough blow to the Jets, who brought in a lot of talent this offseason including a Super Bowl MVP quarterback. And with that, they were viewed as potential Super Bowl contenders.
Yet if Rodgers returns next season, those hopes will remain alive.
