Tom Brady is known for his playoff performances.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer holds the record for the most playoff wins by a quarterback with 35. However, based on the Patriots (and Buccaneers) dominance while he was on the team, most of those games were home.
Only seven of those victories were from away games. And Joe Flacco has the same amount of away playoff victories, tying him with Brady for the NFL record.
And now, Flacco could have a chance to overtake Brady, claiming that record for himself this season.
The quarterback signed with the Browns practice squad towards the end of November after Cleveland lost starter Deshaun Watson. He was elevated and named the starter in Week 13 after Dorian Thompson-Robinson was ruled out with a concussion.
After two strong performances as the starter, the Browns announced that he would remain the top quarterback on the roster, ultimately signing to the active roster.
Out of the four games he has started, Flacco has led the team to three wins. And they are in the hunt for one of those playoff spots.
So far this season, he has 104 completions for 1,307 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
If the season ended today, the Browns would be in, holding the fifth seed. And they can clinch a spot this week in a few different ways.
1. CLE win or tie OR
2. PIT loss or tie OR
3. BUF loss OR
4. JAX loss or tie OR
5. HOU loss or tie + IND loss or tie
If the Browns earn that spot, Flacco can take over the NFL record with a win in the wildcard round.
Let's see what happens.
