EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Another day, another interception for Mac Jones.
Despite having won the quarterback competition during practice coming off the bye week, Jones made a mistake that New England Patriots fans are all too familiar with seeing.
Throwing off his back foot, Jones tries to find Demario Douglas. However, he was met with three Giants defenders swarming the rookie receiver and Deonte Banks came away with the ball.
Jones has made many poor decisions this season and has led to him being benched during three games this season.
After the loss in Germany, the Patriots wouldn't even say that Jones was the starting quarterback. And coming out of the bye, Bill Belichick continued to tell the media that he told each player to be ready.
It wasn't until Saturday night that it was finally reported that Jones had won the battle in practice.
So Zappe remained the backup, while New England also waiving Will Grier before even giving him a chance in the game. They also decided to not elevate Malik Cunningham, who remains on the practice squad.
This was Jones' 10th interception of the season and 34th of his career.
Yet despite the bad throw, the Patriots sent Jones back out for the next drive instead of Zappe.
Let's see how much longer he lasts.
