The New England Patriots loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany was a real turning point for the team this season.
And that applied to Mac Jones as well.
However, there is one detail from that game that many people might not have been aware of. But now it has been made public.
Following the loss, Jones was pictured heading into the x-Ray room, sparking questions of a potential injury.
Jones was asked about the injury when he spoke to reporters after the game, giving a quick update.
"Yeah, I'm good," he said. "I just got a little bruise, but I'm good."
But it appears there was more to the story than what he said.
According to MassLive's Mark Daniels, Jones "suffered a stinger when Tyquan Lewis hit him at 7:56 of the fourth quarter. It caused his right arm to go numb, according to a source.”
Six players later, Jones threw an interception with just over four minutes remaining in the game.
Daniels added that his "right arm slumped down" as he left the field, but one of his teammates admitted he didn't even know Jones was injured.
He remained ready to go, and by the time the offense was set to go back on the field, Jones' arm felt good. However, Bill Belichick made the ultimate decision to bench the quarterback and put in Bailey Zappe instead.
With all the uncertainty of the starting quarterback spot during the season, it makes sense why Jones didn't want to admit he was injured and risk being benched fully for the remainder of the season (even though that eventually happened).
But now fans know the truth from that game.
When did Mac Jones’ QB coach want him to ask for a trade from Patriots?
He could tell things might not work out.
