FOXBOROUGH, Mass – The New England Patriots offensive line has clearly been a problem throughout the season. And while there are many struggles, that might be one of the biggest.

Yet, in Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills, the offensive line looked like it was finally coming together. And that was in part due to Mike Onwenu who returned to a position he hadn't played since 2021.

During his rookie season, Onwenu played at right tackle, but has been at guard since. However, on Sunday, he returned to tackle and looked solid there.

"It felt good," Onwenu told A to Z Sports about the switch. "Throughout the week I was just practicing there and making sure I have all my technique down. So it was a good feeling to go out there and do well and put my practice habits on the field."

This week was different for the offensive line and Onwenu provided some insight into why things looked like they were finally clicking.

"Yeah, I want to say so. We had a good day and it comes from our practice habits so we were intentional this week," he said. "Not that we wasn't any other week, but we were very intentional and it showed up on the game."

Yet, where Onwenu plays next week isn't final despite this performance.

"That's not my call," the offensive lineman said. "But if I am, I'm good there."

Belichick's comments were fairly similar.

"Yeah, we'll see. I'll talk to Mike about it," he said. "I don't know. We'll see how it goes."

While neither Belichick nor Onwenu commented on whether he would remain at tackle going forward, things clearly seemed to work with him there.
