FOXBOROUGH, Mass – Out of all the teams with a top five picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, it seems the New England Patriots are the most likely to be willing to trade down.

The NFL Draft is just over one week away, so have the Patriots received any calls yet from other teams?

"Well, I'd say it's probably a little early for that," head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters on Tuesday at a pre-draft press conference. "In my experience, probably a little early for those conversations.

"A lot of those happen next week as we get a little closer to the draft. I think there's still some preparation and some managing that goes on and the coaches reports. It's probably a little early for some of those conversations to happen."

And with that, Vrabel could explore a possible trade up at some point if they feel the top targets are going quickly.

"Well, as far as manipulating the draft and the board and the value, and if we've gone up and gone down in the places that I've been, I think you're just looking for the best value," Vrabel explained. "And you're trying to find players who are obviously talented and what we feel like are a great fit here for us and can help our football team at different levels. That happens at the top of the draft. That'll happen in the middle parts.

"Obviously, as you get towards the end and there's somebody that you want and you may get, or somebody gives you an offer you're trying to get a little bit more draft capital."

Most Likely First-Round Trade Situation For the Patriots

Based on the latest New Orleans Saints news, they could be in the quarterback market. Last week, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Carr is "dealing with a shoulder injury that threatens his availability for this season." He is "weighing options, including the possibility of surgery."

So if that's the case, they could look to target Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. But, will he still be available at the No. 9 overall pick?

That might be a risk the Saints aren't willing to take. And if that's the case, they could jump the order by trading with the Patriots. especially if the New York Giants don't select him at the No. 3 pick.
