The NFL handed two New England Patriots players early lumps of coal for Christmas, fining them a total amount of $31,688 for penalties in Week 15's loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Patriots running back Antonio Gibson was fined $14,805 for unnecessary roughness (use of the helmet) in last week's loss to the Cardinals.
The play occurred in the first quarter.
The other fine was to defensive end Deatrich Wise for Unnecessary Roughness (horse-collar tackle) in the third quarter.
The play was against Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.
And as for the Cardinals, wide receiver Zach Pascal was fined $11,255 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct (taunting) in the fourth quarter.
