Former Oregon Ducks cornerback Khyree Jackson has tragically passed away after an automobile accident.

Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez, who also played at Oregon, reacted to the news on social media.

"You did exactly what you told me you was gon do.

Get your rest 🕊️💔💔,” Gonzalez wrote on his Instagram story.

Jackson transferred to Oregon prior to the 2023 season, so while him and Gonzalez were not on the team at the same time, they will always be teammates because of the college connection.

Jackson was one of three people who passed away in the accident. His high school teammates who attended Dr. Henry Wise Jr., Anthony Lytton Jr. and Isaiah Hazel, were also killed in the accident that took place in Maryland. Hazel and Jackson were pronounced dead at the scene, while Lytton was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced deceased.

The three were in a Dodge Charger, when the driver of a silver Infiniti "attempted to change lanes while driving at a high rate of speed," and struck the Dodge Charger, which then went off the side of the road and crashed into multiple trees.

During his time with the Ducks, Jackson finished with 34 tackles (five for loss), including two sacks, seven pass breakups and three interceptions.

Oregon coach Dan Lanning also posted on social media in reaction to his former player's tragic death.

"RIP Khyree… Love you @Real_Khyree at a loss for words. I will miss your smile. Great player better person."

Prior to going to Oregon, he made stops in at Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College, followed by East Mississippi CC and Alabama.

The Minnesota Vikings selected Jackson in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft with the No. 108 overall pick.

The Vikings reacted to the news of Jackson's death.

"We are devastated by the news of Khyree Jackson’s death following an overnight car accident.

Our thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, teammates and coaches, as well as all the victims of this tragic accident.💔💔💔"

The NFL also released a statement

The NFL family is deeply saddened and devasted by the passing of Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, loved ones and everybody involved in this tragic accident.
