So many quotes, not enough time.

A lot is said at Gillette Stadium each and every week as the New England Patriots season continues.

It's a new era for the Patriots, with head coach Jerod Mayo leading the way and a whole new look to the offense with Jacoby Brissett in the pocket. Not to mention the continued dominance from the defense.

With all the important quotes throughout the week, A to Z Sports is starting a new weekly story where we will put in key things that the players and coaches say ahead of their matchups.

Next up: Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Starting QB Jacoby Brissett on the Patriots offensive line:

"It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it's coming… They're going to settle in."

__

Defensive Coordinator DeMarcus Covington on Christian Gonzalez:

"He's doing what we ask him to do. He's stepping up to whatever challenge we ask him to do and so hopefully he continues to do that."

*The second-year cornerback has been tasked with covering some of the top wide receivers in the league across the Patriots' first three games this season.

__

Covington on Rookie QB Drake Maye:

"Drake has improved every day… I think he's earning the trust and respect from his teammates."

__

Head coach Jerod Mayo on how the team is keeping Christian Barmore involved:

“He’s going by doctors’ orders. I would also say I think it’s important for a guy like that to be in the building. One thing about the idle mind, you’re just sitting at home all the time, that’s nothing but trouble. For a young player like that, this is an opportunity for him to learn about football as a whole and not just what a defensive tackle does…

“It really does stink to have to go on IR, but you can still be a productive teammate,” Mayo said. “So even when I got hurt, I think you guys know the story of how I started learning how to break down film and do all those things. I look back on it almost as a blessing…

**Mayo has put Barmore in charge of "Funny Friday" – a 30 seconds to one minute long clip aimed at making his teammates laugh.

__

Mayo on tackle Demontrey Jacobs:

"He's a big man. He's very coachable… he’s been getting better every day.”

*Jacobs was seen taking reps at left tackle with the starting offensive line at practice

__

Mayo on Kyle Dugger being named a captain after Ja'Whaun Bentley's injury:

“So, I was a captain seven out of eight years, but I remember getting hurt early in the season, and then Coach (Bill Belichick) approached me and said, ‘Hey, do you mind if we had another captain?’ and I didn’t. So, I had a conversation with Bentley, and the same thing with him, obviously not being in the building every single day right now as he goes through the rehab process. But I did ask him. I said that to me, it’s important that we still have leadership and representation for that side of the ball.

“When we did the votes for captain, and once again, this is voted on by their peers, it was very close. It was very close, and I’m happy to announce today a guy that has done a tremendous job for us, has really shown a lot of growth on the field and off the field, and that’s Kyle Dugger. So, Dugger is now a captain for us.”
