New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick confirmed Monday before the first day of mandatory minicamp that his team has been in contact with free-agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

As for whether or not Hopkins will actually visit New England, Belichick wouldn’t make any declarations.

"Talked to him,” Belichick said. “Working through it. Not sure."

Belichick later said the uncertainty was about logistics.

“I’m not really a travel agent,” he deadpanned.

The head coach said he didn’t want to lead reporters astray if something were to come up to prevent the visit.

“We’re working through it, so I don’t have anything to add to that,” Belichick said.

Hopkins currently is on a visit with the Tennessee Titans. He was released by the Arizona Cardinals last month.

The five-time Pro Bowl selection would enter New England as the Patriots’ top pass-catching option.
