Unless a last-second trade comes together, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook will soon be a free agent.

The Vikings are expected to release Cook on Friday for salary-cap purposes unless Minnesota can find a trade partner. BetOnline.ag has released betting odds for Cook’s next team.

And oddsmakers expect the Patriots to face Cook twice next season one way or another. The three other AFC East teams have the best odds to land Cook.

Dalvin Cook Next Team

  • Miami Dolphins 1/1
  • New York Jets 5/2
  • Buffalo Bills 5/1
  • Cincinnati Bengals 10/1
  • Dallas Cowboys 10/1
  • Chicago Bears 12/1
  • New England Patriots 14/1
  • San Francisco 49ers 14/1
  • Baltimore Ravens 16/1
  • Philadelphia Eagles 18/1
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers 18/1
  • Los Angeles Rams 20/1
  • New Orleans Saints 20/1

It’s at least notable to see the Patriots listed seventh. They don’t have a major need at running back with Rhamondre Stevenson, James Robinson, Ty Montgomery, Pierre Strong, Kevin Harris and J.J. Taylor at the position. But if Cook turns into a value in free agency, then head coach Bill Belichick could always pounce.

Cook has rushed for over 1,000 yards and made the Pro Bowl for four straight seasons. He'll be 28 years old before the 2023 season begins.
