The New England Patriots took two talented defensive players on Day 3 of the NFL Draft who many consider to be steals.

And for one, he expected to hear his name called earlier. But now that Florida State DT Joshua Farmer is headed to New England, he's ready to prove why other teams made a mistake.

“I think there was 17 defensive tackles taken ahead of me," Farmer told reporters on Saturday. "Everybody in the world knows that’s not how it was supposed to go.

“I’m just going to have to get there and prove everybody wrong and just be the best me every day," the Florida state defensive tackle added. "I wouldn’t want it to go any other way. I’m blessed.”

He's ready to get to work, while New England gets a player who has a chip on his shoulder.

But, he's not the only one.

After selecting Farmer, the Patriots took LSU EDGE Bradyn Swinson, who was projected as a third round pick. He also referred to himself as a steal, and told New England fans exactly what they can expect from him

"(I'm) a player that's gonna do whatever the team needs. You're gonna get a dog, though. You're gonna get a dog, off rip. You got a steal," he said. "I'm going to work hard every day. I'm looking to help change the culture there and add to winning. But you're getting a dog, for sure."

While the Patriots spent the first two days of the draft addressing the offense, they certainly haven't forgotten about the defense and now they are adding two players who want to prove themselves quickly.

Let's see what they can do.
