Free-agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was officially in the New England Patriots locker room on Thursday.
Hopkins posted a picture to his Instagram stories with Patriots outside linebacker Matthew Judon in Gillette Stadium. Hopkins’ visit started Wednesday and carried into Thursday. The wideout previously took a visit with the Tennessee Titans.
Now we wait to see if the Patriots and Hopkins can find some common ground on a contract.
Patriots players were asked about Hopkins at OTAs and minicamp. Quarterback Mac Jones and wide receiver Kendrick Bourne said they’d like to see Hopkins come on board. Other players, like Judon and DeVante Parker, wouldn’t discuss the matter.
Hopkins was released by the Arizona Cardinals last month. The Patriots currently have over $14 million in cap space. Their interest in Hopkins was described as “serious” by a source earlier this month.
