The drama has been ramped up amid free-agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins’ visit with the New England Patriots.
After Hopkins posted a photo from inside Gillette Stadium with outside linebacker Matthew Judon, Patriots linebacker Mack Wilson sent out an upside-down smiley face on Twitter.
Wilson has been pushing hard to get Hopkins to sign with the Patriots.
It’s unclear if this latest tweet was positive, negative or even related to Hopkins’ visit at all. But read into it as you will.
Hopkins’ visit spanned Wednesday and Thursday. He was last hosted by the Tennessee Titans, and no other future visits have been reported.
The Patriots have over $14 million in salary cap space. They have significantly more heading into 2024 and 2025.
