The New England Patriots have been making it a point this offseason to sign their top talent to extensions.

And while they have already done it with some key players, there are a few more that are remaining. One of them is defensive tackle Davon Godchaux.

Godchaux is entering the final year of his two-year, $20.8 million extension he signed in 2022. ESPN's Mike Reiss adds that he "has no guaranteed money left."

And on Monday night, he spoke out on X, formerly known as Twitter, about the possibility of continuing his career in New England.

"Hopefully we can get something done that’s fair to me and my team before camp starts! I love NE, I would love to retire here but it’s has to make sense for us! What I do on the football field in the trenches most of time doesn’t show on the stat sheet but turn on the film you will see it if “U know” ball! Would love to finish my career here in NE but it has to make sense to me and my team! 🙏🏽💪🏽," Godchaux wrote.

Godchaux began his career in the AFC East, but actually with one of the Patriots top rivals. He was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and spent four years there.

In 2021 he signed a two-year deal with the Patriots and then agreed to an extension in 2022.

Across his seven seasons in the league, Godchaux has a total of 362 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recover, and two passes defended.

Now let's see if he can agree to another extension.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson signs a four-year extension

Rhamondre Stevenson wasn't kidding when he told reporters recently during the offseason program that he and the team were close to an extension.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Patriots and Stevenson reached an agreement on a four-year extension for $36 million, including $17M fully guaranteed.

Rapoport further reported that Stevenson gets an $8M signing bonus and a total of $12M available in incentives based on reaching at least 1,400 yards and becoming a Pro Bowler or All-Pro.

Moreover, Schefter added that this will now give the star running back the opportunity to "chase down the Patriots all-time leading rusher title."

He is currently 3,188 yards away from catching Sam Cunningham, who is currently the all-time franchise leader with 5,453 yards.
