While former New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker has decided to hang up his cleats, he didn't wait long to find a new career path.
Sources tell A to Z Sports' Travis May that Parker has invested in the Prague Lions, a European League of Football team.
Parker is teaming up with former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew, former lead singer Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe, and Nashville entrepreneurs Andy Moats, Tom Fox, and Will Lower.
The wide receiver took a moment to speak with A to Z Sports about his excitement over this new venture.
"Pumped to be part of the ownership group of the Prague Lions! As I move into this next phase of my career, its been fun to look at what new opportunities are out there, and being an owner of a team gives me the opportunity stay close to the game I’ve loved and played my entire life," Parker said.
Who are the Prague Lions?
The six-time Czech League of American Football champions, the Prague Lions were park of the European League of Football (ELF) expansion last season, which is now made up of 17 teams.
Across the ELF, there are some familiar faces. Hall of Fame offensive lineman Joe Thomas is a coach for the Munich Ravens, Jon Gruden works as an advisor with the Milano Seamen, and former NFL edge defender Michael Sam is a coach for the Barcelona Dragons.
Per May, the ELF regular season will continue through the end of August, with the playoffs and championship wrapping up in late September.
