The New England Patriots apparently were not done making moves on Monday afternoon.

Linebacker Raekwon McMillan was signed to a 1-year extension worth up to $2.245 million through 2024.

McMillan signed a contract extension in March, but was placed on season-ending injured reserve in May after suffering a partially torn Achilles tendon during organized team activities.

Injuries have plagued McMillan since he joined New England, suffering a torn ACL during practice in August 2021. However, he signed a contract extension through 2022 the following month after his injury, and finished his second season on the team with 35 tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery touchdown.

Yet during OTAS this season, he suffered another season-ending injury.

McMillan began his career with the Miami Dolphins being drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. After making his NFL debut during the preseason, he suffered a torn ACL and was out of the season.

In 2018 he started in all 16 games, finishing with 94 total tackles and one sack. Similarly in 2019, he was a starter once again, playing in 13 games before getting a hamstring injury and was out for the remainder of the season.

In 2020 McMillan was traded to the Las Vegas, playing in 16 games and recording 24 total tackles.

While McMillan's career has been plagued by injury, it's clear that the Patriots are intent on keeping him around.
