The brother of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez – Dennis Hernandez – has been ordered to be re-arrested after failing to appear in court last week, the Associated Press reports.
The 37-year-old former UConn football player was due in court on Friday after being charged with throwing a brick with a note attached at ESPN's headquarters in Bristol, Conn in March.
Dennis was being charged with a misdemeanor breach of peace and was scheduled to enter a plea in Superior Court, but did not show.
According to police, the note to ESPN said: "To all media outlets, It’s about time you all realeyes the affect media has on all family members. Since you’re a world wide leader maybe you could lead how media and messages are delivered brick by brick. Clean it up! Yours truly, Dennis J. Hernandez.”
The Associated Press further reported that Bristol Police said they had received an anonymous complaint about Dennis, claiming that "he said he wanted to destroy property at the state Capitol and at ESPN."
Dennis is the older brother of former Patriots star Aaron, who was convicted in 2015 of murdering Odin Lloyd and was serving a life sentence when he committed suicide in prison in 2017.
