Throughout the week, there was one big question that the New England Patriots were facing.
And that was who was going to start at quarterback?
Rookie quarterback Drake Maye spent the week in concussion protocol after leaving last Sunday's game due to a hit to the head. So his status for Week 8 was unknown.
However, on Saturday, the team got the best news possible.
The Patriots announced that Maye has officially cleared concussion protocol. He is expected to start against the Titans, per multiple reports.
Prior to Wednesday's practice, head coach Jerod Mayo told reporters that Maye would be a limited participant. He wasn't able to practice for more than 30 minutes that first day, but afterwards, he was seen out for longer.
And Mayo knew that when the quarterback was cleared, he would be ready to go.
"I do have confidence that as soon as the league says he's ready to play, that he will be able to go out there and operate," Mayo revealed. "In saying that, I feel very comfortable putting Jacoby in there, as he is a professional and always stays ready, as you can see from that last game.
The hit that resulted in the concussion occurred in the first half of Sunday's game against the Jets. Maye was scrambling out of the pocket for some yards, but when he saw Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood closing in, he started to slide. At the same time, Sherwood wanted to make sure the quarterback was down.
Maye was slow to get up after the play.
The Patriots punted soon after, and Maye went right into the blue medical tent. Soon after, Jacoby Brissett was seen warming up on the sidelines while Maye headed into the locker room.
The Patriots listed him as questionable to return with a head injury shortly.
And he was ruled out at halftime.
