The New England Patriots seem prepared to do what everyone has wanted them to do for years now.

And new head coach Jerod Mayo wasn't afraid to admit that when speaking on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show on Monday morning.

Per OverTheCap, the Patriots currently have around $66 million in cap space, which is the fourth most in the league. And they could get some additional money if they make some moves with the current roster.

So with that, Mayo was asked if he plans to use the money that they have. And he didn't mince his words.

"We're bringing in talent 1,000 percent," Mayo said. "We have a lot of cap space and cash. Ready to burn some cash!"

While the team is expected to draft a quarterback, they could also look to bring in a veteran to help lead the team. And they are in need of some top receivers.

Among the free agents this season, WR Tee Higgins and WR Mike Evans are two of the biggest names that will be available, so bringing one of them in could truly be a game changer. And with the free quarterbacks, Kirk Cousins and Baker Mayfield are two of the top names.

Mayo is saying all the right things right now which has got to make ownership and the fans feel good. But words only go so far, so let's see what he does in the coming week.

If what he's saying is any indication, this next season is going to be really fun.
