FOXBOROUGH, Mass – Mike Vrabel was speaking with reporters on Thursday during a press conference, but he made one comment that was directed toward defensive tackle Milton Williams. And it had to do with what he can expect while in New England.
"I hope you want to play more than you played in Philadelphia," Vrabel simply said. "I know you guys were extremely successful, but we want to play [you] a little more than that."
With the Eagles, Williams played 48% of the defensive snaps last season. That's clearly not enough for Vrabel.
And for Williams, he's is very excited about the opportunity and has the right mindset.
“Putting in work. Putting in work. Plain and simple. Extra work. Asking the coaches whatever I need to do to make sure I'm available for every game, like you said, Sunday, Monday, Thursday," Williams explained. "I want to be out there. I want to be out there representing my teammates, this organization.
"Yeah, I ain't going to leave no stone unturned when it comes to preparing, being healthy, being in the best shape that I can be in, and being out there and being productive.”
If there's anyone out there that doesn't think he can rise to this challenge, he looks forward to proving them wrong.
"I thrive on people telling me I can't do something, so bring it on," Williams explained. "The more you're out there, the more opportunity you have making plays. I pride myself in being productive."
