The New England Patriots are activating OT Calvin Anderson off of the non-football injury list, according to ESPN's Field Yates

Anderson was one of the Patriot's main free-agent acquisitions to help fill the offensive tackle gap and has not yet taken a single snap with the team this summer.

Anderson started his career as an undrafted free agent with the Patriots in 2019 before being waived during roster cutdowns. He ended up with the Denver Broncos, where he spent the next four seasons. With starting experience, Anderson offers much-needed veteran presence at tackle.

The Patriots had to make a decision before 4 pm today. If he wasn't activated, he would have missed the first four games of the season. Anderson's return is a big deal for a team that is desperate to find talent along the offensive line. He can start practicing immediately.
