Jack Jones’ tweet about Ja Morant’s guns aged poorly

After Ja Morant was suspended indefinitely by the NBA for a second incident involving holding a gun in a social media video, New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones was very outspoken about Morant's actions.

However, on Friday evening, Jones was arrested for trying to bring two loaded firearms on the plane at Boston Logan International Airport. This news broke just hours after the NBA announced that Morant had been suspended 25 games due to the incident that occurred a month and two days prior.

'@JaMorant dumb.. you letting social media and yo pride ruin yo real money. Put them guns down and run that money up. Make one of yo homies sign up for security or concealed carry if you feel like you need it that bad.. but you the bread winner you gotta start acting like it..", Jones wrote on Twitter on May 15.

He clearly didn't listen to his own message.

Morant showed a firearm on his social media twice in the span on four months. He received an eight-game suspension for the first time, and following the second incident, the NBA launched an investigation.

As for Jones, he is being charged with two counts of each of the following offenses:

– Possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport.

– Possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card.

– Unlawful possession of a firearm.

– Carrying a loaded firearm.

– Possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

The Patriots released a statement to Boston 25 News earlier in the night.

“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time,” spokesperson for the Patriots said.

Jones will be arraigned in East Boston District Court next week.
