Tom Brady has made it clear in recent days that he is not opposed to a third stint in the National Football League. And the New England Patriots were among the teams that he mentioned he would be willing to return to.
“I’m not opposed to (coming back). I don’t know if they’re gonna let me if I become an owner in an NFL team, but I don’t know if — I don’t know,” Brady said on the DeepCut with VicBlends podcast. “I’m always gonna be in good shape, I’m always gonna be able to throw the ball, so to come in for a little bit like (Michael Jordan) coming back — I don’t know if they’d let me — but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”
Everyone started reacting to his comment, and once Brady saw all that, he couldn't help but have some fun.
“50k likes and i’ll unretire grow (my hair) back out 😂😂😂 @vicblends @nobull,” Brady tweeted.
The Patriots took that tweet, and changed it a bit. So instead of his full comment, it just read, “50k likes and i’ll unretire.”
And when current Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett saw that, he had a perfect and hilarious response.
“Nope. Not liking this post!” Brissett commented on the Patriots' post on Instagram.
During Brissett's first stint with the Patriots in 2016, he and Tom Brady became very close. But it makes sense why Brissett doesn't want him back. He'd probably be losing his job.
However, Brady will be coming back to Gillette Stadium this summer… but it won't be to play.
He will be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on June 12, 2024. June, representing the sixth month and six Super Bowl rings with New England, and of course 12 is his number.
