Patriot's eighth-year cornerback Jonathan Jones has received the Ron Burton Community Service Award.

The Ron Burton Award is given annually to those who show an outstanding commitment to giving back to their communities.

Robert Kraft presented the award to Jones at Gillette Stadium tonight and highlighted some of his charitable contributions: “Jonathan prides himself on giving back to the community with his Next Step Foundation and its commitment to the youth in both Boston and in his hometown of Carrollton, Georgia,” said Kraft. “I am impressed with his initiative to team up with ’Play Like a Girl’ that was inspired by his daughter, Skyler. Jonathan has empowered girls to teach the transferable skills girls gain from sports to give them the competitive edge in the classroom and propel them into careers in science.”

Jones was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Patriots after the 2016 NFL draft. He has since developed into one of the premier slot cornerbacks in the NFL and has won two Super Bowls with the team. To date, he has recorded 11 interceptions and 44 passes defended.
