Jalen Hurts, Alabama

The University of Alabama is known to produce many top NFL talents, including one quarterback who helped lead his team to the Super Bowl in his third season.

Jalen Hurts spent three years with Alabama and during that time, he had many ups and downs, going from the starter to the backup role. But, he is well remembered for one moment.

New England Patriots linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. played alongside Hurts for the entire three years at Alabama, and in the duos final season they were able to get one championship under their belt.

Alabama made it to the SEC Championship game in 2018, with current Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa earning the starting role that season. However, Tagovailoa suffered a high ankle sprain, and Hurts came in to lead Alabama to a comeback victory over Georgia.

Wilson couldn't help but praise his former teammate on Twitter after a video was posted from that championship game.

While Hurts left to finish his final year at Oklahoma State, Wilson decided to forgo his senior year and enter the 2019 NFL draft. The linebacker began his career with the Cleveland Browns, being drafted in the fifth round with the 155th overall pick.

He was then traded to the Patriots in 2022, joining another former Alabama quarterback. Wilson finished his first season appearing in all 17 games with 36 total tackles,  1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. He re-signed with New England in March on a one-year contract extension.

As for Hurts, the quarterback entered the NFL draft a year later and was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round with the 53rd overall pick in 2020. He has remained with the Eagles for the last three seasons, and has served as the starter during the last two years.

The two will be reunited once again, but this time on opposite sides of the field as the Patriots will face the Eagles in the season opener on Sept. 10 at Gillette Stadium.
