New England Patriots starting left guard Cole Strange went down in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and was carted off of the field.

Strange did not return and was officially ruled out with a knee injury.

Now Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports that Strange has been placed on Injured Reserve and he won't be back this season.

With Strange on the IR, 2023 undrafted free rookie, Atonio Mafi, is expected to step up at left guard.

Strange finishes the season playing and starting in 10 games for the Patriots while allowing 3 sacks, 3 quarterback hits, 22 total pressures, and two penalties against him.
