Mac Jones does not post on social media very often, but he broke his one-year silence on Monday.

He started the New Year with a strong message about a very important game, going back to his roots.

The former Alabama quarterback couldn't help but show support for his alma mater ahead of their Rose Bowl matchup.

After earning a dominant win over Georgia in the SEC Championship, Alabama claimed the fourth seed in the College Football Playoffs. And now they will face Michigan.

There are a few Alabama alum in the Patriots locker room, and each one is very outspoken about their support for the Crimson Tide. And Jones joined in on the fun.

Jones spent four seasons at Alabama, serving as the starter in 2018 and again in 2019 for four games after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a hip injury. However, when Tagovailoa left for the NFL in 2020, Jones was named the official starter.

And in his final season, he led Alabama to the National Championship Game, ultimately defeating Ohio State.

Jones finished his college career with 413 completions for a completion percentage of 74.3. He also threw for 6,126 yards and 56 touchdowns, along with recording 54 carries for 42 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Jones along with DL Christian Barmore, LB Anfernee Jennings, and LB Mack Wilson Sr. will certainly be watching today's game and rooting for Alabama.

However, on the other side, OL Mike Onwneu, DB Jabrill Peppers, and LB Josh Uche will be cheering on Michigan. Oh and you can't forget about Patriots legend Tom Brady, who is also a Michigan alum.

The game is set to kick off at 5 p.m. from Pasadena, California.
