The New England Patriots defense has been a bright spot for the team this season. However, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are certainly going to be a problem.
And on Wednesday, the Patriots might have caught a break, with one major weapon for the Chiefs sidelined for another day.
that Isiah Pacheco is not at practice on Thursday for the Chiefs. The running back has been sidelined since the game against the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 3.
He was inactive this past weekend during the Chiefs loss to the Buffalo Bills with a shoulder injury.
Pacheco's status for this weekend's game against the Patriots was brought into question, but now that he has been sidelined for a few practices this week, it isn't look as likely that he will be out there.
Earlier this week, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had some nice words to say about the running back.
"Pacheco's done a good job running the ball for him, really tough runner, good vision and good contact balance," he said on Wednesday morning.
Pacheco has already broken his rookie season totals, recording 176 carries for 779 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games.
In Pacheco's absense last game, Clyde Edwards-Helaire stepped up, finishing with 11 carries for 39 yards. Behind him Jerick McKinnon had four carries for 19 yards and one touchdown.
This news is something the Patriots will be monitoring, but the Chiefs without Pacheco is very good news for the New England defense.
