The Patriots currently hold a lead over the Buffalo Bills as they enter the second half of the game. A key change along the offensive line may be a more significant contributing factor than many realize.

The Patriots have started offensive lineman Mike Onwenu at right tackle for the first time since October 21st, 2021, when the Patriots beat the Los Angeles Chargers 27-24.

Onwenu, widely regarded as one of the Patriots' best offensive linemen and one of the league's most versatile, has been exceptional at right tackle when given the opportunity. He allowed just four pressures in four starts at right tackle in 2021.

It shouldn't be a surprise that this is the strongest offensive start to a game that they have had all year. Mac Jones is protecting the ball, Demario Douglas is making big plays, and most of all, there is finally some pass protection.

Former New England Patriot Jamie Collins jokingly mentioned that the uptick in performance of the Patriots' offensive line may be tied to offensive line legend Dante Scarnecchia being in the building yesterday for his Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
