Three veterans will start the preseason program sidelined.
According to multiple reports, safety Cody Davis, guard Mike Onwenu and defensive tackle Justus Tavai were added to the physically unable to perform list prior to training camp.
Onwenu had off-season ankle surgery and was not on the field for any of the practices this Spring. The starting guard is entering the final year of his contract and has appeared in 49 games across his three seasons with the Patriots.
As for Davis, his time in New England has been plagued by injury, suffering a rib injury in 2020 and then a season-ending knee injury in 2022.
Lastly, Justus Tavai is the younger brother of Patriots linebacker, Jahlani Tavai. Justus Tavai signed with the Patriots as an undesired free agent in June.
The players can be activated off the PUP list at any time.
