While everyone saw this coming, it still stings for the New England Patriots.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Falcons are hiring Zac Robinson as their new offensive coordinator.

Robinson spent his entire coaching career with the Rams, having served as the pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach during the last two seasons.

However, once Raheem Morris was named the next head coach of the Falcons, the reunion between the two seemed even more likely. Morris was the defensive coordinator for the Rams from 2021 to 2023.

The Patriots interviewed Robinson earlier this week, and they are scheduled to bring in one of his colleagues in Los Angeles, Nick Caley, for an in-person interview this weekend.

Robinson has drawn immense interest from teams this offseason, with the Buccaneers, Saints, Steelers, and Raiders also being interested. However, they all lost out on him.

Among the nine known candidates the Patriots have interviewed so far, three of them have already accepted jobs elsewhere.

Former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, San Francisco 49ers tight ends coach Brian Fleury, Detriot Lions pass game coordinator Tanner Engstrand, Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson, and Caley are all still available among the ones the Patriots have interviewed.

Based on this report it seems Caley and Josh McDaniels could be the front runners for the offensive coordinator job in New England next season.
