FOXBOROUGH, Mass – On Monday, the New England Patriots Hall of Fame announced the three finalists for the Class of 2025 – Julian Edelman, Logan Mankins, and Adam Vinatieri.

Following the news, Antonio Gibson was asked if he was familiar with any of these Patriots legends when speaking with reporters on Thursday.

"Edelman is probably the only one I know. Not to disrespect anybody," Gibson said. "He played a major part in the franchise, especially when they were winning Super Bowls and things of that nature."

However, he jokingly revealed that Edelman's viral catch in the Patriots comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI was hard for him to watch.

"I think he had a crazy catch when I was a Falcons fan. And that kind of hurt my heart," he added. "So it's bittersweet, but much respect for him. Of course, we had no choice but to watch him because of the things he's doing."

So let's take a trip down memory lane.

With 2:28 to play in Super Bowl LI and down by eight points, Tom Brady threw the ball to Edelman, who was covered by three Falcons defenders. Atlanta cornerback Robert Alford was able to get a hand on the pass, but couldn't haul the pass in. Instead, it started to fall to the ground, but Edelman dove to keep the play alive.

The miraculous catch somehow never touched the ground, and Edelman was able to get his hands around it. The officials deemed it a fair catch, setting New England up to complete their iconic Super Bowl comeback.
