Patriots reportedly to re-sign veteran before free agency
The Patriots are getting out ahead of free agency by bringing back one of its own players.
The New England Patriots have one less thing to worry about once free agency begins next week.
The Patriots have agreed to terms on a new contract with soon-to-be-free-agent linebacker Raekwon McMillan, a league source told The Boston Globe's Jim McBride on Friday.
McMillan has been with the Patriots since the 2021 offseason. He missed his first year with New England after suffering a torn ACL in practice. He signed a one-year deal with the Patriots last offseason and finished the season with 35 tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery for a touchdown, five tackles for loss and one QB hit in 16 games with one start.
The Patriots also have off-ball linebackers Ja'Whaun Bentley and Jahlani Tavai under contract and Olakunle Fatukasi, Terez Hall and Calvin Munson on future deals. Mack Wilson remains a free agent.
