Patriots reportedly re-signing veteran defender to one-year deal

The New England Patriots have yet to add a player from outside the organization as they continue to work at re-signing their own free agents during the NFL’s open tampering period.

The latest re-signing is defensive tackle Carl Davis, per the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.

Davis has been with the Patriots since 2020. He played 16 games last season and registered 11 tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and one QB hit. He also recovered a fumble.

Davis, 31, entered the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens as a third-round pick in 2015. He’s also sptent time with the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He re-joins Christian Barmore, Davon Godchaux, Lawrence Guy, DaMarcus Mitchell, Sam Roberts and Deatrich Wise along New England's defensive line.
