The New England Patriots lost a tough matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Anyone who thought the Bill Belichick-led team would just roll over and let teams run roughshod on them was silenced with their gritty game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

With that, the team does need to bring in some reinforcements. Much like the rest of the AFC East, they need offensive line help. Outside of that, perhaps the biggest question mark is that of the cornerback room.

Belichick wasted no time bringing in some help. A to Z Sports Sophie Weller confirmed through sources that the Patriots have signed CB William Hooper to the practice squad.

Hooper, 23, originally signed with the Packers after going undrafted. He spent his college career playing with the FCS-level Northwestern State. During his collegiate career, Hooper amassed three interceptions, 100 tackles, and 21 pass breakups over 46 career games. The impressive stats earned him Southland all-conference second team in 2022.

The newly-acquired cornerback, outside of the Packers, earned an invite from the division rival Buffalo Bills as well.

Hooper now becomes the 16th member of the current practice squad after the team came to terms with Ian Book. Before the opener, QB Bailey Zappe and RB Ty Montgomery were activated to the 53-man roster, giving the team an opportunity to sign Hooper on the practice squad.

He'll have an uphill battle for substantial playing time, but crazier things have happened.
