A team gains compensatory selections if they lose more compensatory free agents than they gain. New England lost two in wide receivers Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor and gained four in wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, offensive tackles Riley Reiff and Calvin Anderson and tight end Mike Gesicki.
This is the second time in three years that New England won’t receive a comp pick in the draft. They also gained more compensatory free agents than they lost during the 2021 offseason. They obtained comp picks from 2014 to 2021.
The Patriots have additional sixth- and seventh-round picks in 2024. They did also trade away a 2024 seventh-round pick.
New England had two comp picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. They traded down from their fourth-round comp pick to select UCLA guard Atonio Mafia and Michigan State cornerback Ameer Speed. They used their sixth-round comp pick on Liberty wide receiver Demario Douglas.
