Al Michaels can't catch a break this season.

It's no secret that the Thursday Night Football games have not been as competitive as the league would have hoped this season. And unfortunately, this Thursday will be no different.

The struggling New England Patriots will travel to Pittsburgh to face off against the Steelers. But the Steelers will also be relying on their backup quarterback.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Steeler's quarterback Kenny Pickett will be sidelined for a couple of weeks with an ankle injury.

Reporter Gerry Dulac further reported that Picket is set to have a surgical procedure on his ankle on Monday that will sideline him for 2-4 weeks.

So Thursday Night's matchup appears to be Bailey Zappe vs. Mitch Trubisky.

That's what everyone wanted right?

Zappe earned the start on Sunday for the first time this season, but the offense wasn't able to get anything going. And with that, the team got shutout at home for the second time this year.

But his quick decision making in the pocket at times combined with some impressive throws might have been enough for Belichick to give him another chance.

Who knows what this game will have in store.
