The consensus second ranked QB weighed in on the potential of being drafted by the Patriots.

The Patriots currently hold the sixth overall draft selection and would likely need to lose more games or trade up to land him, but Drake Maye has often been connected to the Patriots as a potential replacement for the struggling Mac Jones. In the October 19th episode of ESPN's Pardon My Take, Maye was asked about the Patriots, to which he responded, "Obviously, they have some rich history," likely alluding to the two-decade span of dominance that resulted in six Super Bowl wins. To add some additional context, it was asked with the implication of potentially being drafted by the Patriots. He may have won over the hearts of some Patriots by following that up with, "They have some awesome fans."

The Patriots are currently 1-5 and are seemingly on first-class flight heading straight for a top-eight draft selection. There is much argument over whether or not the Patriots should pursue the potential upgrade at QB with a prospect like prototypical 6'5" 230lbs Maye or if they should use their premium assets to build around Mac Jones and give him a fair shake. No matter which side of the argument you are on, we all agree that we just hope whoever is drafted develops into the youthful star this team desperately needs.
