The New England Patriots didn’t make rookie minicamp open to the media over the weekend, but they are showing a glimpse of what those practice sessions looked like for the 2023 NFL Draft picks and undrafted free agents.

The most recent clip shows first-round pick Christian Gonzalez going through a drill and displaying some impressive change of direction for a 6-foot-1, 197-pound cornerback.

The Patriots traded down from No. 14 to No. 17 overall to land Gonzalez — a projected top-10 pick — in last month’s draft. He adds some much-needed size to New England’s cornerback group and ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 41.5-inch vertical leap and 11-feet, 1-inch broad jump.

The Patriots tweeted out a clip of sixth-round wide receivers Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas going through pass-catching drills Tuesday.

The other big-ish news from rookie minicamp was that undrafted free agent Malik Cunningham was exclusively being used at quarterback. He has the athleticism to potentially be used with some positional versatility.
