The New England Patriots have already made several moves in NFL free agency, with more on the way.

Could one of those moves be a reunion with former star pass rusher, Kyle Van Noy, who won two Super Bowls with the Patriots during his fourish-season stint from 2016-2019?

He was actually asked about that while guest appearing on NFL Network’ Free Agency Frenzy and he made his thoughts on the matter very clear.

“That would be a blessing come true,” Van Noy told former NFL defensive lineman Gerald McCoy. “I like what they’ve done in free agency, getting AVT (Alijah Vera-Tucker) at guard. I like what they did by getting Dre’Mont Jones [to play] opposite of Harold Landry. I really like Dre’Mont Jones paired up with Christian Barmore, and [the] big dog in the middle, [Milton] Williams. I mean, he’s a stud.

“I really think I can provide some help. I really can provide that championship mindset. I really like what [Mike Vrabel] is doing, and I do believe that would be a dream come true, to go home. That’s home, [that’s] football land.”

Van Noy would also help offset the potential loss of K’Lavon Chaisson

Not only would Van Noy bring an elite amount of leadership to the Patriots locker room – he could help offset the loss of K’Lavon Chaisson, who looks like he’s more and more gone with each passing hour.

Sure, Van Noy only recorded 2.0 sacks in 15 games last year, but it’s important to note he played the second-fewest snaps of his career since 2016. The Ravens defense, as a whole, was also a shell of its usual self and just about everyone not named Kyle Hamilton had a bad year.

Van Noy is just two years removed from a 12.5 sack season in 2024, so he clearly has some juice left and while he’s probably not a starter anymore, he’s a damn good rotational player who again, can really help a young Patriots team continue to grow and develop into the perennial winner we saw for over 20 years.

“For me, what they’re doing, what they’re building – I really like the accountability [Mike] Vrabel has installed into that building,” said Van Noy. “And I just like Drake Maye, too. I know he struggled at the end of the season last year, but what a chance to come out and learn from your mistakes [and] mature just a little bit more.

“Get him some receivers, and I think he’s going to continue to take off… They’re (also) doing a great job of getting the o-line ready. What a dream come true to go home like that and perform in front of the fans.”

There you have it. That’s a sales pitch if I’ve ever heard one. We’ll see if it catches Eliot Wolf’s and Vrabel’s attention or not.
