The New England Patriots have provided a glimpse into the coaching titles for the 2023 season, having updated it on their website.
The team still have yet to announce anything publicly.
Nothing is completely out of the ordinary, but there was some uncertainty regarding Joe Judge's title after the struggles last season.
Judge was listed as the offensive assistant/quarterbacks coach last season, but is now serving as an assistant head coach. It was expected that he would lose the title from last year after the Patriots brought in Bill O'Brien as offensive coordinator.
Along with O'Brien, the Patriots have brought in three new members of their coaching staff.
Adrian Klemm, who served as the associate head coach, run game coordinator, and offensive line coach at Oregon is taking over as offensive line coach.
Will Lawing is taking over as tight end coach, while Keith Jones is serving as the NFL coaching fellowship/defense. Lawing has experience working with O'Brien, having spent time with the new offensive coordinator at Penn State, Houston, and Alabama.
Lawing is also taking over for Nick Caley, who left to become the tight ends coach with the Los Angeles Rams.
The Patriots will also be without Matt Patricia, who was the unofficial play caller last season. Patricia has now joined the Philadelphia Eagles staff as a senior defensive assistant.
And one of the most notable moments of the offseason was Jerod Mayo turning down head coaching interviews to remain with the Patriots. While they have not done this in the past, New England made sure to announce the contract extension with Mayo, as the former Patriots linebacker is being looked at to replace Bill Belichick.
However, Mayo's title did not change, as he is still listed as the linebackers coach.
