The New England Patriots kicked off training camp in the cutest way ever, with numerous players taking the field while holding a puppy. It was part of the Patriots’ “Pawtriots” adoption event.

And Diggs took the field holding a small Beagle mix. However, when he got to the top of the stairs, the wide receiver decided to put the dog down and let him wander.

But, the dog clearly tried to make a run for it and almost got past Diggs, which was shown in a video posted by the Patriots.

The dog gave Diggs his first real test of training camp, especially considering he is coming off a torn ACL he suffered just about eight months ago. But, he reacted quickly, showcasing his first bout of running for the day.

Diggs went on to catch Maye's first pass of the day in team drills, and finished going 2-for-2.

The veteran wide receiver was already a fan favorite since signing with the Patriots, but this made everything even better. It was the perfect way to kick off training camp.
