Tom Brady broke his silence on his relationship with Antonio Brown after the former NFL receiver posted a private Instagram message between the two where Brady was checking in with him.
Specifically, Brady stated, "Please don't miss your psychologist appointments," to which Brown was not happy about him saying.
On the latest episode of “IMPAULSIVE," Brady was asked about this along with his relationship with Brown, and he didn't hold back.
“I want the best for him,” the future Hall of Fame quarterback said. “I saw a spark in him that I thought, if put in the right place, how incredible he could be. Not just for the team he was on, but for his life and what he could accomplish. I just, I always hope for the best for him. I met him and I always admired him as a player, and then I actually saw in the meeting room how he could take information and bring it to the field.
Brown was signed a one year deal with the Patriots in September 2019 on the same day he was released from the Cleveland Browns. He ultimately made his debut in Week 2, catching four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. However, that was his one and only game in New England because more evidence came forward accusing him of sexual assault.
"We picked him up with the Patriots and he played one game, the second game of the year against Miami. And then, the next week in practice, we were playing the Jets. It was a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday practice. We didn't have an incompletion the entire week of practice. Like that,'s basically unheard of. And we released him Friday afternoon," Brady added. “And there were just a lot of things that were happening in his life and that he needed to focus on. The Patriots decided, ‘We’re not dealing with this.’ The league had some issues."
In 2020, after being suspended for the first eight games of the season, Brady advocated for the Buccaneers to sign him, which they did.
"And then we ended up going to Tampa, and then he came back after a suspension in Tampa. And I just thought, okay if I can help him, I'd love to help him because he helped our team and help his life," Brady stated. "And again, I just always root for the best."
