Trent Brown is a key member of the Patriots offense, but the left tackle did not travel with the team to Germany two weeks ago.

And when speaking exclusively with A to Z Sports on Tuesday, Brown provided an update on his injury.

"I'm trying to shape back," Brown said. "So I found that I was dealing with a high and low ankle sprain and an MCL sprain on the same side. So it's kind of like I got a flat tire."

In the loss to the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 22, Brown injured his ankle on the third to last drive. He explained that it was a "pretty good ankle sprain and sprained MCL."

He then injured the ankle once again the following week against the Dolphins.

"Trying to do it for the team, but I was looking like crap out there personally. That's how I felt," Brown said. "I've been battling through some things, but I'm trying to get through."

Along with the injury, Brown also explained why he was away from the team for personal reasons, explaining that he unfortunately had a death in the family.

However, he was back out with the team after the bye week as they prepare to take on the New York Giants.

"I've just been rehabbing," Brown said when asked about his status. "It's taking it day by day."
